I dont normally write reviews, but I have to share my very positive experience with Cotic recently. I had a very small crack in the frame of my Solaris Max a few weeks ago. It was within the warranty and they agreed straight away to replace the frame. They swapped it all over for me and even replaced the cables. It feels like a totally new bike, smooth as silk - delighted with the first class service and the wonderful Solaris Max.

Amazing bikes backed up by even better customer service. After being a mechanic/manager at a LBS for many years and dealing with most of the major brands, I can confidently say Cotics product support is second to none. Would 100% recommend. My Jeht is awesome, thanks for helping me get it sorted Paul.

In my experience, it's best to judge something after the 'honeymoon' period! Well, I've had my Cotic Solaris Max for a few weeks now and have managed a fair few miles on trails here in the Scottish Highlands. I found the costs of riding a full suss through the winter to be stupidly high. Despite cleaning and maintenance, bearings and seals simply didn't perform to expectations and I needed an economically viable solution to winter (i.e. October to April) riding. A hardtail was recommended and it made sense. I knew what ride and position I wanted the bike to provide : it had to be a 29er, steel and a head tube angle of around 66 degrees. The only unknown was how the complete bike would feel. To limit that risk, my decision was to buy a Cotic Solaris Max in XL. The staff at Cotic were invariably knowledgeable, friendly and motivated human beings. I felt very comfortable dealing with the company. They sent the frame to James at Pedalworks in Dunstable near Luton and he built the bike from a spec list that we compiled. I travel many miles into the mountains and rate reliability over everything else. So, I'm loyal to good kit and have no real interest in the latest/lightest/shiny-est components. Therefore, James fitted: DT Swiss wheels, Schwalbe tubeless tyres, (Magic Mary front and Hans Dampf rear), XT shifters, SLX 1x12 chainset, Fox 34 forks, XTR bottom bracket, XT SPD pedals, SLX 4 pot brakes, Bontrager Line Elite seatpost, Renthal Fat Bar, Ergon saddle and grips, Mudplugger mudguards F and R; First impressions were very good: Cotic had produced a frame that was very well made, thoughtful and gorgeous; James had built the bike to the highest of standards; I tweaked the cockpit positions to suit and Cotic's advice to fit a short stem was vital. Then I took the bike out on to trails I know very well. A brilliant thing happened: I regressed to being 13 again and the wonderfulness of riding a bike returned. It could eat up Land Rover track miles deep into glens or swish amongst trees on a steep hillside, man-made trail. I enjoyed every moment I rode the bike. I still do. It is that rewarding. I found it to be stable, comfortable, quick, agile, forgiving (I'm an experiential rider and not a performance rider..) and felt encouraged to go faster and to jump higher! A man of my age shouldn't be behaving like that! I've covered over a hundred miles offroad now and still return home beaming and elated. The bike flatters me and I love it! Thank you Cotic and thank you James in Pedalworks. I really appreciate what you created! Mike Donaghy Killiecrankie Perthshire Scotland
