This really is a great location for a romantic getaway. Stayed here with my girlfriend back in April 2018 and can't wait to go back. Pictures really don't do it justice. Really quiet and peaceful, the owner was extremely nice and attentive, and the nature is astounding. I went back home feeling absolutely refreshed after this :) Also really nice to explore the mine and the surrounding area!

Absolutely loved staying at Peace Cottage - it's perfect for a getaway with your partner, or if you're a writer looking to unplug and get some work done without distraction. It was well equipped, with all the amenities you need, and the location is absolutely stunning, right by the river. If you're looking for a peaceful sanctuary for a (long) weekend, this is it. Thanks for the great visit!

I stayed here back in August with my husband and toddler. It was such a magical experience, one I hope to have again some day. It's quite quiet and near the river, literally a perfect respite from living in a busy city,. At night you can actually see the stars and hear the crickets, in a word it's idyllic. I would highly recommend this place to families or couples looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. What more can you want than water and greenery? Also, the host is lovely and very helpful. We had some requests for our young one and everything worked out perfectly. 10/10 would stay again.

Average accommodation with no luxury whatsoever. Below are a list of issues we had yet the property owner is not willing to offer any compensation. Broken toaster - lever wouldn't stay down. Dishwasher broken - left metal runner falls out from top tray requiring to be put back in every time you pull the top tray out. Kitchen hob was greasy which we had to clean. Mismatched, cheap and broken cutlery. Mismatched and cheap crockery. Docking station would only fit an old iphone with large input so not fit for purpose. Cobwebs in living room and bedroom. OS map is from 1981 so very outdated. Local map was drawn with pen. No large bath towels anywhere in property. No toiletries in the property other than a squeezed half bottle of radox from a previous occupant. Toilet seat is discoloured from not being cleaned well or often enough. Cottage photos imply absolute seclusion but theres another cottage 30 feet away and the owners house 100 yards away. Very disappointing considering we paid 1350 for one week at the beginning of September. My recommendation would be to book a different property as the owner has shown no remorse whatsoever.
