Lovely place to stay very comfy! Beautiful views, brilliant back garden and, a very cool historic place with many cool features! Amazing bathroom and VERY comfy sofa. However, a few appliances need updating such as the oven as it wouldn't get hot enough, shower/jacuzzi didn't work however, kindly the owner left a lovely note (thank you) Great local places like The Top Brink Pub! Not disable friendly. However a lovely place for a family get away would definitely recommend! :)

My sister and I booked a 3-night break here after my 10 year old nephew asked to spend some time with his younger cousins after the two lockdowns. We were so looking forward to it. But the week before my nephew became ill and was admitted to hospital for surgery. I contacted the host straight away. I knew they had a no refund cancellation policy but hoped under the circumstances they might be able to let us rearrange our trip so my nephew didnt miss out. He was really poorly and we were all worried about him and I really needed a bit of compassion and good customer service. I didnt get it. I know the host had no obligation to help me but I thought Id get a little compassion. Instead I got a no they couldnt move the dates, at most they would let me have an October date with 50% discount (but we couldnt afford to spend any more money on the trip). When I responded by asking if they could even consider moving our booking to a quiet month like November or January they just ignored me. I contacted them a few times and still no response. Travel nest, who manage the booking system on the air bnb app hadnt responded at all either. It wasnt until I went directly to the air bnb support team that I got a response from travel nest asking that I didnt contact the host anymore as theyd told travel nest Id been harassing them. What a cheek! I only wanted a response and that was just another kick in the teeth. The host just completely lacked any compassion or decency. And travel nest was terrible with communication altogether. With air bnb supports help, they offered me September dates which I couldnt do because of work and when I suggested the October date that the host had mentioned they said no to it - which I just dont understand. The whole thing was just so upsetting as if things werent bad enough. Eventually they offered a 50% refund (thanks to the help of the air bnb team) which is something at least but well be hard pushed to book anything now. Im sure if things run smoothly this is a lovely place to stay, but our experience was pretty awful
