Lovely, old-style country pub: warm, friendly staff. This is Britain's first co-operatively owned pub which serves superb, well-kept beers (from the brewery at the back)The food is good quality, standard pub grub. The Sunday roast beef lunch is excellent but one quibble about the menu is that it doesn't change and there don't appear to be any 'specials' so there's little variety for those staying in the area for a few days. The building dates from the 1700s so access is tricky for those with serious mobility issues; my 95 year old mum and her mates manage ok, though. Wheelchair users would struggle.
