On behalf of my wife: After being a loyal customer for around 6 years, Julie has always made it clear that if a customer isn't satisfied with the finish of a colour/cut then they are to let her know immediately. I have had had to take her up on her word in the past without any problem. However, on 12th March, this clearly was not the case. I had asked for my usual request of a full head of foils and a trim. The outcome of this particular service was not up the standard that was expected. The end result looked like I had already had four weeks worth of growth as the foils were not positioned anywhere close enough to my roots and other areas completely missed with too much of my natural hair colour present throughout and mostly underneath. When my hair was dried and finished, the hairdresser I had said the end result was warm in places and lighter in some. This leads me to believe she already knew it wasn't what i was expecting. I was unaware of the finish of my hair until I was home and able to inspect fully as I was not shown the underneath of my hair in the salon. It was only when family members commented and made me aware of the outcome once my hair was parted at the back. I made my hairdresser aware as soon as I realised. She instantly went on the defense and told me "Reason is because you don't come in that often, the dark gets really dark so it is harder to make it lighter." In the past this has never been an issue and I only left it 4 months after my last colour. I would like to add that the foils were never checked to see how they were processing which is something they would normally do. As the conversation via messenger continued with my hairdresser, I felt I was being an inconvenience and was told she would speak to Julie in 3 days time when she would next see her. As I wanted this resolved as soon as possible, I messaged Julie and sent her pictures of my hair. Julie said she would call the following Monday to sort it (2 days time) When she called she instantly went on to the defence and made the surprising remark that the hairdresser felt intimidated because I made her aware I was not happy with the finish. Julie also then accused me of bad mouthing another stylist during conversation with my hairdresser during my appointment. This was taken completely out of context as I had commented that when my hair was cut by a different stylist (who I had never had before) in my previous appointment, it was cut a bit shorter than I normally have it. However, I did add that I was actually pleased with the shape and it needed the cut. Never once did I "run her down." Julies words to me were "You were continously running her down." I am not sure how Julie can be certain of this point as she was not present in the salon during my appointment. Julie then also made me aware that she should have charged me more if I wanted more foils as I was booked for a half head. On the day of my appointment, I sat in the chair and asked for a FULL head of foils. The conversation on the phone quickly became heated as Julie was constantly speaking over me not allowing me to explain how I would like to rectify the situation. I can admit that I told them how I truly felt about them as hairdressers as she had shocked and upset me so much with what she was saying. EVENTUALLY she offered for me to come back in to rectify the finish. I declined to come back after how I had been made to feel. I then made my husband contact her to arrange the refund which she accepted to do. This took over a week to receive as she decided it could only be done by cheque. This came attatched with a note stating she was accepting no responsibility. I have since had an appointment with a reputable hair dressers who corrected and gave me the results I was originally looking for along with a professional experience. I will continue to give them my business. On a final note, she made us aware that the 'letter' was to prevent slander of her and her business. I can confidently say this is not slander but a true account of my latest experience. Service: Hairstyling
