I was honoured to be invited to attend the re-dedication of the memorial to the 380 members of NATSOPA who fell in World War One. Director, Adrian Burr, of Springbourne Homes LTD had worked hard to discover the nature of the original memorial. It was fitting that the memorial stands where the NATSOPA chapel once stood. The chapel has been preserved and forms part of one of the small number of luxury homes being built. After the rededication ceremony Mr Burr led us on a tour of the site where we saw the tree planted by King George VI on his visit to the NATSOPA Homes, also preserved. We were then shown around one of the luxury houses. I was impressed by the quality of the build, the open nature of the site, large gardens, and the care taken to lay the estate out carefully enabling splendid views across the surrounding landscape. A fitting chapter in the life of this historic site.
