This was our first visit to the nursery. A good selection of plants and very helpful staff. We went to the caf where again, the staff were very pleasant. We will definitely pay a visit again soon.

We've visited the Daisy Clough cafe many times and always enjoyed it but our visit yesterday was such a disappointment. Many of the food and drink items we tried to order were not available (fish, diet coke, low alcohol beer, ice for drinks). The person that took our order was chewing gum and we saw food on plates (toast and teacakes) being taken to tables stacked on top of each other which can't be very hygienic. Our drinks (all cold soft drinks) came after a 20 minute wait, we could actually see them sat on the counter but no-one brought them to us. Our food came after a 50 minute wait and it was not up to the usual standard; the burgers were tasteless, the quiche was very hard on the bottom and for some reason the brioche bun had been squashed flat (in a sandwich maker?) When we ordered coffees, 4 of them were a poor imitation of flat whites so we requested a refund which we were given. It's understable that the cafe was busy as it was a bank holiday but that's not really a good excuse for such a poor experience. When we expressed our concerns the lady on the till was apologetic but the lady who appeared to be in charge clearly wasnt interested at all and we left feeling very disappointed and very reluctant to visit again. Several people had got up and walked out without food and drinks whilst we were waiting for our order to arrive so something was obviously wrong with the management in the cafe.
