Oh dear... really poor experience today. We ordered a bacon roll and tea and coffee which took a while.... no problem with that ... but how hard can it be to grill a bit of bacon put in on a roll .... well it seems a little tougher than we would expect... you know the script... big fluffy soft roll ..... really edgy marg and 3 pieces of vv cheap micro waved bacon ... with complimentary hooky brown sauce ... what else could you ask for... I know cheap tea bags... all for 5p under 15 quid ... really... dont think we will be going back... 2 stars because the lady serving on the counter was very pleasant and was working hard to keep the turnover up....

Was in there today and the staff, as usual, were warm and friendly. Pay no heed to those that say otherwise, I think its just the local people in Buxton have a way of saying things as they are direct to you not messing about trying to be politically correct. A spade is a spade as they say but no harm intended and as far as Im concerned, none taken.

Lovely sausage maxi and cheese toasties on a dull Wednesday in January! Friendly staff.

Figured we'd go to a proper bakery rather than Greggs for some croissants. Two croissants and a pain au chocolat for 5 pounds, quite steep but oh well its a real bakery at least. I was surprised that these were the worst croissants you could possibly find anywhere in Buxton, soft, pale and dry, same for the pain au chocolat. We had to throw them away after two bites because it was not edible. Luckily, in pavilion gardens we did find proper croissants, not from a bakery. Avoid would be my advice.

Went in at 2.40pm on a monday afternnon with my wife , our daughter and her 1 month old baby, we went to sit down and a woman shouted from behind the counter rudely "the cafe is closed."Very unusual as it said it was open till 5pm. Very unprofessional.
