Visited this place last weekend as a group of ladies, half of the party opted for afternoon tea and the other half selected from the menu. When the afternoon tea platters arrived, it was a big disappointment unfortunately. For what they charge 25 pp the portion size was very stingy. The ladies who had the afternoon tea said the quality of the cakes were not great either sadly. Some of the other ladies did not have a good experience either as the pie was served up warm but cold in the middle, the jacket potatoes not fully cooked and hard in the middle and the Welsh rarebit again a stingy amount not even covering the top of the doorstep toast. Admittedly when the waitress was told about this, she did try to rectify by getting more topping for the toast, but again the quality wasn't great if I'm honest. When going to pay at the end the 2 jacket potato meals were not charged for which was accepted, but nevertheless it did tarnish the visit, which was a shame as it was a prime location. We won't be going back.
