My mother has been at Bushey House for 13 months and we are very happy with the home and the care she is receiving. We would like to praise her main carer Susie who has over the months got to understand my mother's needs perfectly I also have to mention Gail who also spends many hours looking after my mother and of course their are many more wonderful carers and nurses and kitchen and dinner staff who make my mother's stay a happy one. One of the reasons we picked Bushey House was my mother likes to sit in the garden and the gardens are very special. thank you everyone

I visit this care home on occasion to entertain the elderly residents with high-quality operatic performances that they wouldn't otherwise have access to... The place looks really nice, the staff attentive and caring and the residents seem all happy and well looked-after.

I visited the house briefly to gain work experience and I had the most wonderful time. The staff were super welcoming and clearly had the residents well-being and the forefront of their mind in everything they did which I was lucky enough to view from behind the scenes. There were a range of activities to take part in from a coffee morning to a concert performed by a lovely guitar player, which we could enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee. The food was a delightful three course meal, and it was heartening to see all the individual residents were catered for with assistance if required. All the residents were very warm and I had a good laugh with them making me feel very welcome in the home. I am already planning my next work experience opportunity here and am grateful to all the staff and residents for the absolutely brilliant experience I had.

I'm having to write this review again as unfortunately the first one did not go through. To cut a long story short, this is an abysmal care home with very poor nursing care. My dad spent 18 months here and at the end of it he had two separate safeguarding/negligence concerns raised for him about the standard of care he received. BOTH cases were upheld. We knew right at the beginning the home was living off it's reputation and we were repeatedly lied to by nursing staff and management. The GP Dr Zemmel is very dismissive and takes very little interest. Do not stay here, even short term. The director at the time is still in position I believe which incomprehensible. We're still very angry about Dad's treatment here and all we can do is leave a review!! Andy Stewart
