27/10/22: update. Called in once again to try and sort a joint account. Changed my review to 5 stars die to Bev, who helped us out enormously! Fantastic service and a credit to this branch. Was a quick and easy closure of one account, open of another, helpful with pin exchange and very knowledgeable about services on offer. June 2022: Absolutely awful and disappointing branch. Hardly open, as they close whenever they feel like and don't stick to advertised hours. Don't come here if you want to pay bagged coins into an account, as they have no coin counting/weighing facility. Told me to go to the Post Office. Have closed a couple of times recently (no isolation restrictions) due to Covid and staffing issues (why not move staff from other branches to cover). Don't come here if you need any account admin tasks completed; first time paperwork was incorrectly completed by cashier. 2nd time attending to change surname and there was no-one who had authority to do so. Instead, asked me to drive to Rochdale!

Really bad experience today tried to send some money for a motor home via Internet banking. Got a text from fraud department. So went into Bury HSBC and was holding on a phone there for 2 hours and 10 minutes then a woman in India answered who was rude and arrogant and interrogated us on why we are spending this money, she had no idea what a motor home was. We were there for over 4 hours and she blocked our sale!!!! We withdrew the cash and walked out.disgusting behaviour to a customer.
