Avon Lee Lodge

I've been working at Avon Lee Lodge since 2017 and it feels like my own family. The staff are good hearted people and in this job that's one of the most important aspects staff can have. They work with love and from love and they treat the residents as if they're family to them so I believe the management are good at interviewing and taking only the best possible people to join the team. Training and progressing opportunities are there for everybody. I personally am about to start my NVQ 5 and before this I completed my NVQ 3, all this offered and paid by the home. Care it's hard and shifts are long but definitely worth it, specially when you see appreciation from colleagues, management and very specially family members and residents. If you're looking for a care home that feels like home, definitely I recommend Avon Lee Lodge.

Avon Lee Lodge have helped us out of an emergency situation with my mother in law who was really struggling with independent living. Firstly they worked hard to get all the paperwork completed quickly to get her a place, and then they have liaised with the local GP and MHT to get the medication sorted so that she can be relaxed and feel safe and settle in this care home. They have been professional, tolerant, and at all times caring for her needs. It is also really helpful to have the care notes online so that we can see how she is getting on day to day. We have had the most relaxed 3 weeks in the last 3 years in the knowledge that she is finally safe and cared for. A difficult transition for most, but made so much easier by the team at Avon Lee.

Mum was taken to Avon Lee Lodge at very short notice for respite care, and remained there for over three months. She couldn't talk highly enough of the staff, who were all so kind and professional despite the very difficult circumstances of 2021. Their concern for her was touching, and friendships seem to have been made. The fifth star is withheld only because of some structural issues - some missing handrails, and some poorly functioning amenities. Aside from that, we are very happy to have ended up at Avon Lee Lodge.

I have worked at Avon Lee Lodge and have found the staff, administrators, manager and owners very dedicated, friendly and supportive. I have really enjoyed my time meeting & caring for the residents who always seem to have a smile for you. Im sad to be leaving as it is a fantastic place of work but I need to relocate for family commitments.
