Prince and Bates

I have never encountered such a condescending and rude optician in my life. I had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with a Mr. Sheffield for a contact lens follow up today, throughout the entire encounter this man was passively aggressive and patronising at any time the opportunity presented itself. In the past this establishment has been superb, however after todays experience I am debating on switching opticians. This type of behaviour is unacceptable. People with poor temperament and fragile egos do not belong on the public front line in a business like this.

Excellent service from Optometrist Mr Marshall, and from Dispensing Optician Alice. They are both very knowledgeable, helpful and reliable! I have been with Prince and Bates since I was a child and they have served me well!

Been coming here for years, went for a premium eye test during lockdown. Excellent friendly people here. Got the ask clear for another 2 years

I don't often write reviews, but felt it was appropriate to do so now. Mr Sheffield has looked after my Family's eyesight for over 20 years and confirmation of this decision cannot better summed up than by saying that during a routing eye test, Mr Sheffield spotted something wrong with my Wife's eyes, he immediately undertook further tests , and then referred her to the local eye hospital where emergency surgery was undertaken to save the eyesight in one eye. Without Mr Sheffield's diligence, and care, without doubt, My wife would have lost the sight in that eye. Throughout the entire process he was calm and reassuring whilst explaining what had been found and what was needed, along with the next steps. My Family and I cannot recommend Mr Sheffield and the team highly enough, so much so, that My daughters still travel back to see him from the Cities where they are at University
