My dad went to the Croft shortly before Covid. Whilst the staff seemed mostly ok, we felt that things werent managed well and especially during Covid. My dads physical and mental wellbeing deteriorated from the prolonged periods of being isolated with little stimulation or ways around the situation to engage. Queries were reactively rather than proactively dealt with. Lack of meaningful tailored activities for those more able. Had to prompt regularly on personal care assistance. Better range of staged dietary requirements for those who require non standard food, so that they can still experience the flavours of each food item would be of benefit. Dad was generally cared for, but we didnt feel that enough was done on an individual need level.

My dad was in here for 4 months, he as vascular dimentia, some of the staff are ok but most of them are all very young and inexperienced in dementia, my dad had falls we weren't informed about, 90% of the time walked about with no walking stick and wasn't encourage to use,his alarm mat for his bedroom door kept being removed, he'd always be walking around with no socks or slippers On, most days unwashed and unshaven, carers don't wear uniforms ?? My dad used to think it was kids in hoodies off the street telling him what go Do....he really wasn't stimulated at all and we feel he definantly wasn't looked after the way he deserves, most of the carers are sitting around talking to the able minded ones, leaving the less fortunate ones to look after themselves, desperately needs more mature experienced caring staff, not just staff that are all friends an also a manager who will actually tell them what to do.
