Simple but very attractive little village church in a peaceful setting. A beautiful exterior, whilst the fairly plain interior is enlivened by a grandiose pew for the Lord of the Manor, box pews for the rest of the congregation and some spectacular memorials to past Lords and Ladies of the Manor. There are large wooden plaques on the walls, showing the Coats of Arms of the family and it is interesting to see how they have been repeatedly quartered over the centuries, as the heirs have married into other "high born" families.

Historic grade I listed church with 11th century origins, mid-12th century north arcade, 13th century south arcade, north chantry of 1313, 15th century clerestory and tower, 18th century north side of chancel, but otherwise rebuilt 1840. Distinctive box pews, make this a most interesting church to look around. There is a toilet with disabled access. Open most days.

5th time we have tried to visit. Closed. Beautiful sunny day in mid June...The Hall and Gardens were busy. What a shame.
