Wouldnt go any where else for my hair! These girls are the best! So knowledgeable and caring. And the salon is beautiful too. From the minute you walk in until the very end they look after you and my blonde has never looked so healthy and natural. I see Ashleigh for my hair and every single time she not only does my hair beautifully but I leave feeling so positive after a good chat with her! I never write these types of reviews but feel I should warn other people of the treatment you get at this salon. Back in early December 2022 I was looking for a salon to get my highlights done (with Toner), it was a last minute decision. I looked on the Tuesday evening for an appointment on the Saturday and came across Unit Four. I was surprised they had an appointment at such short notice. I booked online, having to give my card details, and did see their policy to have a skin test which is normal. Plus they said you need to give 48hrs notice to cancel, but I wasnt expecting to cancel so I didnt mind. The next day I started feeling ill, mainly fluey/full of cold. At this stage I thought I would be fine by Saturday (there was something going around including Covid). Later that day my niece, who lives with me, started to also feel bad. Looking after her & myself the last thing on my mind was getting a patch test, even though I did get a text from the salon. I planned to pop along to the salon on Friday afternoon, hoping we would both be better. Both of us had worsened by the next day and by Friday morning, having spoken to a doctor I was told to take my niece to A&E. Whilst travelling there I got a text to say if I didnt do a patch test that morning I would have to cancel my appointment. I immediately text back to say I was taking my niece to A&E that morning and therefore needed to cancel, due to that and my own illness. I then got a notification from my credit card to say over 80 had been taken from my account! As I was due to have highlights etc, they had taken 50% of the total cost of my appointment. I was flabbergasted! I had told them I was In A&E & they had just taken the money straight away. I totally understand a deposit system, and if I had had to pay 20 or 30 that would have been more acceptable but to take over 80 when I had to cancel through no fault of my own was extremely excessive. Especially as I had given over 24hours notice. (Which is normal in most other service businesses). This is no way to run a business. Even after I explained everything they didnt back down and therefore took over 80 for nothing. It was a Saturday afternoon appointment which I am sure they could of filled..all in all a terrible experience, with rude text messages and 80 down for nothing, whilst looking after a very sick niece!
