We obtained a quote from Mike which on the whole was very reasonable so no complaints there. A few weeks later they started laying a new patio for us to the style that we requested but then once complete this was when the problems started, one of the slabs that was used for a step had a chunk out the side which got replaced no problem and the finishing around the outside edge was messy which also got rectified (to an extent). Later down the line we noticed that around most of the edging the grouting hadnt filled the gaps so you can see wide open gaps which quite frankly shouldnt be there if the base had been built up properly which is in turn causing the grouting to continually disappear down the gaps. Secondly we have multiple slabs that are loose which is completely unacceptable after a few months. We then contacted Alexander fencing to request that the issues are sorted, initial reply was that they were on holiday and would contact us when they are back. Well its some holiday as we still havent heard anything back after a substantial time, we have since tried emailing again, phoning both home and mobile numbers and texting but we are clearly being blanked and ignored. We are now left with a second rate bodged job which is obviously not going to be rectified. On the whole we are very disappointed with such terrible workmanship and wouldnt recommend using this company for any type of work as they wont rectify any issues they have created! Mike & Stuart erected a sturdy retaining fence against an unstable & difficult bank in our rear garden. Friendly & knowledgeable & prompt timekeeping. A good job done in under 1 day. Would recommend.
