Just outside Booths, at the Ringtail Retail Park, is a statue and plaque in commemoration of the Royal Navy Personnel who served at HMS Ringtail Royal Naval Air Station, Burscough; the HMS Ringtail Royal Naval Air Station was operational on this site between 1st September 1943 and 15th June 1946 for radar training and as a base for squadrons disembarked or working up for shipboard operations during World War II. Inside Booths, in the cafe that overlooks the commemoration, are photographs and more information. Well worth a visit. "Lest we forget"
