Mr Jinkinsons

Visited this establishment today for an eye test. I am getting headaches when reading or spending time on the computer. I have had glasses for years always using this opticians when Mark had it. The opticians who are now in residence where very thorough and professional. Checking for cataracts which I have and checking my eye pressure which was up. They undertook a vision field test as a result of the pressure issue. New glasses are now on order. Mr Jinkinson is a chain of opticians. The staff there where very pleasant and chatty. Answered all my queries and put up with me rambling on! I've no idea if the staff are permanently in residence at the Padiham practice or they move around. All I can say is the 3 there today where excellent.

I havent been to the opticians for 20 years and was quite nervous. I got to Mr Jinks and was made to feel really welcome and at ease. Sue, the optometrist was really kind and calm. And clearly very experience. She explained everything really clearly and put me at complete ease. Once I knew my prescription the whole team helped me work out what frames would suit me and made the whole experience feel like a treat rather than a chore. I cant wait to go pick up my glasses. What an amazing, personal experience - I wouldnt hesitate to recommend!

I would give 0 stars but thats not possible. I work as a social worker and have a client that had surgery two days ago, during time in theatre my client placed their contact lenses in the contact lense case provided by jinkinsons. My clients contact lenses dried up during time in surgery, she called the store on the 14th and was spoke to quite abruptly over the phone and was reassured she would have a call back that afternoon, when returning to my clients home on the 15th they still had not received a call back. So I advised them to call jinkinsons and chase this matter up, my client was informed that they would have to go for an eye test before ordering more contact lenses but they had no appointments before Christmas. The lady in witch my client spoke to on the phone was extremely rude and unhelpful and very unprofessional witch led my client to ending the phone in tears and unable to see. I called back and attempted to resolve the situation by asking for a prescription in witch I would collect as my client is not able to go for an eye appointment due to just having major surgery and being house bound, the lady on the phone was really really rude and told me she was spending time with her family, i explained I understood this but due to calling the store and her answering Im quite certain this is not true. I asked for the ladys name so when I call tomorrow to try and resolve this issue she refused to tell me and swore at me on the phone, this is very unprofessional and has left my client very distressed and unable to see, my clients been a customer for 14 years at this store and has never experienced this, but since being taken over I can see other reviews witch state how rude people are being treated, I will be taking this further as I have recorded the phone call and I am appalled. Please avoid using as about as helpful as a chocolate tea pot.
