        Fabulous performance of MENDELSSOHN: ELIJAH. Wonderful to hear and see that we continue to have strong local choir and orchestra. Burnley always had a great cultural history and legacy. Well done to all Venue staff were very helpful and polite as always

        The Mechanics is a great venue, just the right size, good refreshment set-up, helpful staff. My only concern is that the auditorium became rather over-heated and stuffy, on a not-particularly warm evening. The performance of 'Elijah' was stirring and moving. The municipal orchestra has some strong players, with a very good brass section. The choir had mastered the complex oratorio to a decent standard. And the soloists were excellent, making it a memorable evening.
