I am unfortunately a tenant of Calico Housing. Ringstones regularly carry out work to their housing stock. My advice, is to not allow these people within a mile of your property unless you have a building insurance policy that will pay to have the work they carry out corrected by someone who actually knows what they are doing. Last year, after three lots of legal action and complaining to Calico for 15 years to try to get them to carry out damp works, my third solicitor actually managed to get them to do the work - and that is where Ringstones come in. All the downstairs walls both internal and external were damp, the roof was leaking and there was dry rot in the bathroom. There was also a leaking pipe in the living room/front bedroom ceiling. I was subsequently decanted out and this is some of what happened next. * I took a shower and water started to piss through the kitchen ceiling because they didn't weigh the bath down with water before applying sealant. * New insulation and plaster had been installed in the dwc. The plaster was not drying out and black mould was developing on the walls. I established that the toilet upstairs was leaking. Calico plumbers came. The cistern was held on to dry walling with two wood screws and no brackets. The cistern, full of water came away from the wall. He caught it just in time and then I took on the role of plumbers mate, sitting on the toilet backwards, holding onto said cistern why he ran down to his van to get his tools. After dealing with that we found that the reason the toilet was leaking was due to no fixings being used and it was stuck together with silicone sealant. * Then the hot water tap came away in my hand while it was running and the taps to the sink basin were not working properly. *They put in a U-shaped shower rail on which was so high up the shower curtain didn't touch the bath and water was running over the side. * Kitchen. They replaced some of the cupboards due to damp damage but none of the doors were straight, the base boards didn't fit and were not even screwed on properly, if at all. * The the back door was leaking. It didn't leak before they started work but Calico carpenters have been out nearly three times and its still leaking as I write this review. * Leak in ceiling. I was told that there was no leak although I had told them that it was under the cupboard. They took up the floorboards that were used as access. Shame they didn't actually screw them back and I have a springboard in my bedroom that Tom Daley could dive off. * An air-flow system was installed. There has been cooking smells etc. coming into my house ever since. I then had to turn it off as the house was covered in black dust. On march 23rd 2020 lockdown - I was diagnosed with pneumonia - I am still trying to recover from my third bout. * The paint would not adhere to the walls. Ringstones blamed the decorators. Two months later there were still problems. * Now I have a house full of mice. Ringstones created gaps that they can get through. Just found a big hole in the concrete floor. I have a mouse living in the back bedroom and one in the living room. Trying to deal with the problem myself but can't breathe properly and am exhausted Final note: Perhaps if f the managing director of Ringstones is reading this, he might have the integrity to pay for pest control and replace my new carpets as I did not have mice before they turned up As for any potential clients - for the sake of your sanity DON'T GO THERE!
