Visited Burnley branch this morning to hopefully open or arrange to open a childs bank account. On arrival I was informed that it may not be possible to open one today which I totally understood. Another member of staff then came to the window and bluntly told us to come back in October when it was half term and maybe it could be opened then! As we are on holiday in October I requested to book an appointment, to then be told we dont make appointments as there is only one person who can open children's accounts and there nothing they can do and theyre not booking appointments! They then advised as we are away on holiday in October it would probably be best just opening an account elsewhere! I was then asked which bank I use and would it not be better opening one with them! We requested the Manger to be told shes there behind us! The Manger completely ignored us and didnt engage whatsoever. Thankfully we got in touch with Preston branch who sorted our requests and booked us an appointment over the phone for two weeks time. There arent words to describe the staff at Virgin Money Burnley other than incompetent and unprofessional, I have never experienced anything like this in my life.

The 2 ladies who helped me on 19/05/20 with a fraud problem were excellent, they were so helpful after having no help from the call centre, I was told to go to my local branch which was Burnley, 5 miles from me, I didn't want to go to an actual branch with my little boy and I was feeling anxious with this pandemic we are going through but the two ladies were great, however the call centre should sort out any fraud problems and not send customers out.
