I would give this hospital 1 stars (if I could give it 0 stars I would!) I came in there to get better, and came out worse and more traumatised than ever. I came out with more self harm scars. I originally went int there with nothing on my arms at all. This self harm was due to having to deal with how the staff would treat the patients! My family would come for a hour visit (a 6 hour round trip) just for 1 hour. Huntercombe did not care about that one bit. And everytime my family would leave, Id understandly cry. As soon as my family were out of sight, Id get 4/5 staff members restraining me to my bedroom, forcing me up against the wall, pulling my trousers down and injecting me with medication. Sometimes grown men were the ones pulling the trousers down. (That should always be the last resort) but it wasnt in the staffs eyes. It got to the point where I didnt want my family to come because I dreaded what would happen when Id leave. This hospital has left me well and truly traumatised! Im glad its getting shut down. They failed so many of us

i personally think huntercombe has really nice staff that are very helpful and helped me when i needed the most support. thames ward helped me a lot and helped me get better. but the environment wasn't the nicest the walls was peeling and so were the doors. i was over medicated but i don't think they knew what else to do. but the staff really do care and really help. so thank you for all the support and the time you still took to look after me and let me still call the ward for nearly a 1yr after i left. so thank you

A problematic place. Probably influenced by Burrhus Skinner. Questionable hygiene. Kind of played a part in ruining things. One staff member actually couldn't communicate with me because I used a medical term. Interesting social politics on the ward. Not sure how healthy not being able to go out for months is. Outside oxygen is a thing. Also why do they restrict communication in a very anti-human rights way?
