Stayed at The Railway, booked for 3 nights but heading home after 2. Room upstairs which we were not aware of & my dog has bad arthritis so struggling to get up and down. I paid a lot more to upgrade for extra room which was to house 2 xxl dogs & barely fits 1 dog tripping over each other. Room was draughty & we can hear everything next door incl loo being flushed. This is not a bad review rooms are very nice but would make sure I have own place next time. Staff very helpful & we will book again just not The Railway

We had a great family get together at Olive Tree House, Burnham Market. I could not fault the property. It had everything and more even 2 dishwashers. The location is private yet minutes from the town centre. Barefoot retreats were great even recommended an amazing lady who made my husbands birthday cake. I will without doubt use them again. Thank you Danniella and Paul London

We've just returned from a short stay at the Watermill in Burnham Market, Norfolk. The property is full of charm and character, well put together and very clean as you would expect for a property rented at this price. What is somewhat unique is the setting, which is ideal for relaxing and cutting-off from the real world. Sitting on the deck overlooking the river Burn, listening to slow running water while watching brown trout swimming and deer grazing just a few metres from us on a daily basis was amazing. The deck is somewhat of a sun-trap from the morning to mid afternoon and later in the day get's some shaded areas for those who don't like the sun exposure. The walk into Burnham Market town is short and the restaurants there are very good indeed albeit somewhat pricey. The location is good for travel to some amazing local beaches as well as historic sites such as Holkham Hall. Points to note: no EV charge points but there is an outside socket that you can use if you have a lead that's long enough and time enough to charge at low current levels. This property is not suitable for those with young children or mobility issues much because of the fact that it was designed and built several hundred years ago. The stairs are challenging even for able bodied people. The upper rooms can get very warm during spells of hot weather. Aside from that, it's a gem. The interiors are very comfortable and bundled with character. I particularly liked the way they incorporated the mill workings as decorative features I found the booking via Barefoot Retreats to be easy to transact and they were responsive and helpful. On arrival I'd lost the email containing the keycode and an email to BR was answered promptly even if it was well after office hours. The welcome goodies box was a nice touch and the property manual well put together OK, it's not cheap but I'd say it's well worth it. I would highly recommend this venue for a short, adults-only break and I will be recommending Barefoot Retreats to F&F + using them again for sure.
