        Escaped here after a disappointment at another local pub. Felt lucky to get a nice table in the main bar at 1pm on a busy day. Comfortable cosy place with lots of walkers, dogs, smart people lunching, etc. Slightly upmarket presentation but not off-puttingly so. Food slightly disappointing. Had a 'Josper' steak with 'Koffman's' chips. No, me neither. Turns out Josper is a brand of grill and Koffman's is a brand of frozen chip. OK. Neither excelled. Nice pint of local Barham ale and an acceptable Portuguese Tinto. Overall a very pleasant interlude on a long walk.
