The Braze(n) Head is one of those glorious little secondhand bookstores that, thankfully, manage to persist out in the wild. Situated in the village of Burnham Market on the north Norfolk coast, it's next to an equally marvelous hardware store (which seems small outside, but goes on forever). The bookshop is a ragtag procession of small rooms (upstairs) and a passage (downstairs) lined with carefully stacked and sorted books. There are sections for crime, history, children, art, regional info/history, fiction, horror, fantasy, and more, stretching a long way back and upstairs, too. By and large, reasonably priced and not beyond a little haggling, though I've never found much needI would rather ensure the place remains open and active than scrimp on a few quid. It's worth checking in the window and the cabinet downstairs to see if they have anything special. I picked up a First Edition and also a nice slipcased Folio Society edition of The Spanish Inquisition. My fourth visit and will return when I next pass this way. Parking on the street, but also paid parking (c. 185 spaces) just down the road.

This is exactly how you want a bookshop a to be. Every nook and cranny of every room is filled with books new and old and virtually every topic is covered. They have many rare and special editions and I have often found some real gems amongst the shelves. Without a doubt, a book lover's bookshop.
