Afternoon Tea at Burley Manor

Mothers Day disappointment. I booked via OpenTable, only to subsequently receive an email informing that the hotel had cancelled the booking. The hotel had transferred the booking to another system without recognising the consequences. Having had afternoon tea in the hotel last year and found it delightful, we decided to bring Mums for a treat. The out buildings were a great disappointment by comparison with the main hotel. The balance of savoury v sweet was wrong. Two tiny sandwiches each does not offset the mountain of sugar! Payment was another surprise. Considerably higher than the price advertised on open table! To put it into context, we could have had a substantial meal at a pub for less. My booking and culinary experience will ensure I wont be repeating this. It has to be said that the staff were lovely. Thankfully Mums are all too lovely to say anything other than that they enjoyed it.

What a hidden gem.We've been to Burley scores if times but never noticed Burley Manor.Beautiful house in a lovely setting.Great afternoon tea,lovely staff.We really recommend people try it.

Family celebration 1st hugs in eons...A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE. Professional quality staff, delicious afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. The houmous sandwich wow! The strawberry jam wow! Everything was very tasty so we very much look forward to visiting again. Thank you all staff AT BURLEY MANOR Almost forgot to mention the creative decoration orchids in hanging test tubes on the tree, we marvelled at its originality and look forward to see more from the artistic mind that created it.
