Burford Golf Club

Fantastic layout, very fair but bring your 'A' game. Course was in excellent condition, pity the weather was not as nice,very cold.

Had a very good mx5 meeting here. The food was very limited for a vegetarian. Nice place though.

I was spending the weekend in Oxfordshire and decided why not put the clubs in the car and if the opportunity arises play a round somewhere. I went to my trusted source and found Burford and what a gem this course is. We stayed at a B&B literally over looking the course. You start over the road from the club house for the first nine and then back over the road to complete the 2nd loop of nine. Its a very good looking golf course, most holes are lined with mature fern trees and there are some fairly tight fairways, the greens were mint and a joy to put on. I would have said on paper it looks like a course that any reasonable ball striker would post a good score but it definitely caught me off guard and left me wanting to go round again with a different strategy, always a sign of a good course I find. Condition was amazing and a friendly welcome at the pro shop and by other members always leaves a good impression. Burford I will be back!
