Egress Software Technologies

This is the London office of Egress Software and is on the 12th floor of the White Collar Factory, 1 Old Street Yard. They are experts in secure (encrypted) Email and File transfer as well as related tools supporting top quality email transmission and reception, guarding against spam and phishing. Their software also makes use of machine learning. Egress is also known to be supportive of the broader UK public sector cyber security community, by attending, helping and getting involved in many events, ideas and conferences over an extended period of time. Having visited their office today, I was impressed by the views of South, East and West London, and even more by the sheer number of awards and trophies they have won and proudly display.

While Egress software for medical applications works, after a fashion, in my experience as a software engineer (early in my career) and later a teacher of decision sciences in British universities, I recognise the mind-set behind its design. It is the most over-specified and user-unfriendly piece of security software that I've ever come across. If I find it problematic, with my own tech experience and a PhD in mathematical sciences, then I fear for how some elderly patients or their carers, who are likely to be less-highly trained, will find dealing with Egress software at a time when they may already be highly stressed. This software needs to be shown the egress! PS Note which reviews here have received Likes, and which have not!

This company has created the worst email system ever. Utterly pointless and even fails at the unnecessary security it claims to provide - My wife can forward the ".switch" file to me, and I can open it with zero security checks whatsover. I am lost as to the process - there is no logic. I receive an email in MS Outlook to tell me I have an email in egress which I then have to load in egress's software to view. I am unable to search my Outlook for egress emails, and then all egress emails are automatically deleted from the system after 60 days so I lose all history. I will never deal with another company that uses egress, I will refuse point blank to deal with them - it really is that simple - Utter hate and contempt is an understatement for this terrible, pointless software.
