Wickham Design Practice

We recently used Wickham Design Practice to renovate our run down ground floor victorian flat into a modern airy one bedroom garden flat. Matt from Wickham Design Practice helped us with the whole process, from initial concept, to design and planning permission and through the whole build process. Matt's approach was very flexible and helpful, always offering different options and quotes. Matt was able to recommend us a building company that he has used previously with other clients who were able to start the work promptly and did a fantastic job. Matt always let us know in a timely manner which decisions needed to be made when, and was able to offer help and advice on technical documents such as building control and party wall agreements. Before and during the build, Matt made regular visits to the site to oversee the project and ensure that the build was going as planned. Would highly recommend Matt and Wickham Design Practice - you can really notice the difference that having a good architect involved in the project makes to the finished look. We used Wickham Design Practise for our double storey extension and were delighted with the results. Matt was excellent and took us through all parts of the design and planning process which was made more difficult with the extra stipulations of living in a garden city. Our initial plans for the extension were perhaps a little conservative but once we saw Matt's ideas, we knew we could turn the extension into something a little more special. The new double bedroom with ensuite has a vaulted ceiling and is flooded with natural light, which makes a lovely contrast to elsewhere in the house. The redevelopment of the kitchen, including moving the downstairs toilet and creating a new entrance to the utility room has totally transformed the space. The new dining area with its corner Bi-fold doors leads out into the garden and is a beautiful spot to enjoy the morning sun.
