What a special place. It feels like a home from home- except this one has an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, playground, boules court, riding stables, table tennis, pool and a bunch of beautiful gardens and well watered plants. If you do leave there is lots to see and do along the North Cornish coast. Bude- inc v cool sea pool, Boscastle, Tintangel, Pencarrow House, Hartland House and a bunch of great restaurants. As recommended by Broomhill we took a 5 minute walk to the Prescott Gate Arms for lunch and dinner- really nice local pub- and went to the Bank in Bude great tapas. Also tired after our drive on arrival we ordered a delivery pizza and calamari/ prawns from La Boca Italian restaurant in Bude and it was delicious. Just allow a decent amount of time for delivery. All in all a great holiday. As my 10 year old boy said as we were leaving. "I'd be very happy of we came to Broomfield every year." Thank you Louise and Philip.

This was my fourth trip to Broomhill Manor and the best one yet! Even though the weather wasn't kind in the first couple of days we still found plenty to do on site including swimming, snooker, games room, play room and horse riding next door which was excellent as always. On the recommendation of Alan, we also wandered down to The Tree Inn - a friendly, rustic pub just under a mile away - for a Sunday carvery and a cheeky pint of Guinness which was great and we soon forgot about the weather. Linda also recommended a visit to The Hidden Valley and this was another great shout as we had a thoroughly enjoyable 4 / 5 hours there; my eldest enjoying solving the puzzles and my youngest running around the grounds and riding on the minature railway. When the weather perked up, we hit the beaches; particularly Sandymouth which surprisingly I had not been to before but has quickly become my favourite. It has a National Trust car park, a really nice cafe and the beach is just great, especially all the rock pool but you have to keep your eye on the tide as it comes in quickly and can catch you unawares. I also enjoyed some coastal walking - from Bude to Sandymouth, Bude to Widemouth and Sandymouth to Duckpool, all with absolutely stunning scenery. During my walk to Duckpool, I could have sat on the cliff top overlooking the Atlantic for the rest of the week it was that mesmerizing. All in all we had a great week and even managed to tag on an extra day to take advantage of the Bank Holiday and great weather. The accommodation and facilities at Broomhill were excellent as always and Linda and Alan superb hosts. We stayed in Woodpecker this time round but have been in four different cottages during our four visits and they have all been very comfortable and well equipped and have everything you need for a great holiday. Bude itself has grown over the 10 years or so I have been visiting and now has some great restaurants and small eateries and I would particulary recommend 'Get Your Veg On' a small kiosk by the canal where we had lunch on the last day before our drive home. Bude itself is a very friendly place with a nice vibe and I never tire of visiting, it is definitely one of my favourite places in Cornwall. Thanks again to Linda and Alan for another great trip to Broomhill which just gets better every time we visit. Keep up the great work and we'll see you again for a fifth visit soon....
