We stayed in the station cottage for two nights in the unexpected long weekend in September. There is absolutely nothing we didn't like. The cottage was spacious than we expected. The kitchen was well equipped. Ownerd had left fresh milk in the fridge. She has also left very nice flapjacks. The cottage was very clean. The wood burner was an added bonus. Two rooms were adequately sized. There were three in our party but I'm sure four people can comfortably stay there. Train lovers can watch trains from the kitchen or the sitting room. Or one can easily walk to the platform. There were several trains even on the Sunday.Any train lover should not miss this hidden gem. Owners were brilliant. Nina welcomed us on the day we checked in and also popped in on the day we left. Her welcome package was very informative and had an account on the history of the railway track, cottage and the village. Overall our mini break was fabulous. My only regret was we stayed for only two nights since it was hurriedly booked due to the government announced an additional bank holiday due to the Queen's passing. We will definitely visit again. My few suggestions for improvement are a mirror in the double room and a curtain in kitchen windows.

Beautiful cottage and location. Very well-kept and important historic building. Very comfortable and great for a stay of any duration, especially if you're into railways and trains, as you can watch the trains trundle through along the Heart of Wales Line by just walking out the front door, or looking out of the kitchen / living room window! I'd strongly recommend a stay here. My stay was incredibly memorable!
