StarBed Hideaways

Bertie and Bryony absolutely deserve their 5 stars. Second time Ive stayed at Halcyon and its one of my happiest places, they have created a beautiful hut with everything you would need. Reading in front of the fire (inside and outside of the hut) an amazing bath and no TV which just forces you to unwind. Its a great location to then go over to Cornwall for the day which Ive done both times. Such a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of London. Oh and thank you for the dairy free milk! My absolute highest recommendations :)

The second stop-off on our Devon honeymoon and definitely somewhere very unique! There are two hideaways located in woodland and fields overlooking Buckland Abbey (which is certainly worth a tour around). StarBed achieves the sense of peace and tranquility from being secluded but still has all conveniences (there's running water, electricity and, if you're really fussed, a good phone signal!) There's a fully equipped kitchen if you're self-catering plus an outdoor fire pit and BBQ for the evenings. As the name suggests, the location allows for very clear skies to star gaze and I'd recommend downloading a phone app such as Sky Guide before you go to work out which star is which (plus a portable telescope, or even some binoculars for a clearer view). It's a great base for exploring Dartmoor. Highly recommended for something a bit different.

This place is truly wonderful and amazing. A beautiful, scenic, quiet paradise with fire pit to watch the sunset to, a stunning bath next to an inside fireplace, every comfort you can need, a lovely welcome of cake, tea, hot chocolate, biscuits etc. and super friendly and accommodating hosts who go out of their way to be helpful. Cannot recommend more highly and cannot wait to come back!
