Mum was in quite a bad way when admited to Queens. Gemma went above & beyond to settle Mum in - even going in over her weekend off to over see Mums admitance. We visited the following day. The staff wer very welcoming, helpful & accomadting. Evette spent quite a while with us explaining everything & then went off & got us a nice pot of tea & biscuits to enjoy with Mum. Everyone who has visited has been most impressed by the proffesional, but friendly way the home is run on evey visit. Mum has now been at the home for nearly 3 months & is thriving both physically & mentally. She has put on weight & is joining in. it is wonderful to see Mum so happy & fitting in so well. Robb looks after Mum wonderfully, keeping all her hospital appointments & arraning escorts & transport so that we can now visit mum & have proper repationships rather than looking after her. Lisa the activities manager has lots of things for the residents to join in with & is very encouring. The home really is like a little family & we are always made to feel welcome. Thr home are aware I have a long way to travel, so every visit they actually feed me, this means I sit down in the restaurant with Mum & we have a meal together. I must say the food is pretty amazing. Then there is Geeta, Mum says Geetta is cheeky (in the nicest posible way) & Mum loves this as she can be cheeky back & have a little laugh with Geeta. Geeta always keeps me well informed about how Mum is & her progress. They have had a couple of social events since Mum was admited & at both events staff have made sure that Mum was not left out. Gemma visits Mum most mornings & has a little chat, I think is a lovelvy touch & is something Mum looks forward to. I would highly recommend queens, a great place Home from home with an instant family built in. nothing is too much trouble for the staff, the carers are always on hand & keep an eye all the residents. Tony is always about to put up pictures sheves & sort maintence issues. I could go on, but bottom line is that is all care homes were this good we would all be itching to get in one.
