Lisa looked after my daughter for approximately 18 months on a full-time basis when she was between the ages of 1.5 and 3 years old. When my daughter started with Lisa I had recently moved house and to a new area. Initially I had planned to move my daughter to a new nursery; however, she absolutely hated it and couldn't cope with the amount of change and transition going on and did not settle despite trying for 3 weeks. I found Lisa through a mutual friend who lives locally who had put a notice in the local mum and dads Facebook group. When I went to visit her at her house I instantly felt at ease. She was sincere and kind and her house was clean, warm and inviting. My daughter settled with Lisa instantly and I then made the decision to send her to Lisa fulltime for the foreseeable future. She really benefitted from the home setting and more focused 1:1 care. I then witnessed how my daughter relaxed and I watched her confidence grow. My daughter absolutely loved her time there. She became part of the family building strong relationships with Lisa and her husband Paul (who is also Lisa's registered assistant), and of course Lisas own children. Lisa is very patient and thoughtful in her approach to childcare. She has an excellent setting with lots of age-appropriate activities and toys and the children have plenty to entertain them and to ensure continued development. Lisa and Paul recently spent several months during the first lockdown re-purposing a standalone unit in their garden (which has its own heating and electricity supply) into an amazing play and learning cabin for the children with 6 different sections: arts and crafts (with blackboards, LCD screens, play-doh etc.), reading corner with library and cushions, sensory wall, fully-stocked kitchen, under-the-sea soft play area with sensory lights and sound effects, and an enchanted forest with log cabin and more. They have totally transformed the place - making excellent use of space - and the children absolutely love it. Lisa always gave open and thorough feedback about any issues my daughter may have been having (e.g. with sleeping, eating etc.) and her written feedback was invaluable for my various health visitor checks for my daughter during that period. My daughter has now reached pre-school age and needs more of a structured setting but that is the only reason that our journey with Lisa has come to an end otherwise we would not want to leave! I have no hesitation in recommending Lisas setting for your children - you can feel reassured when you leave them and go to work that they will be safe, happy, well-fed and loved in her home.
