Delicious food. Great pub in a great location. I came here with a group of friends after we did Tough Mudder. I wish I went for the fish and chips and the sticky toffee pudding! I had such food envy looking at my friend's choices! Ah, never mind. Would recommend going. It's a chill place, which is quite nice!

Aesthetically nice pub badly let down by kitchen/management. We live locally and since it opened have visited for a family meal every few months. What is a really nicely decorated and laid out pub, is badly let down by its kitchen. The menu is fairly limited, standard affair, but I cannot recall a visit where large parts of it were unavailable (often because they have run out of one small but key ingredient, last time it was mushrooms). Trips to and from the bar to report back to the rest of the group "sorry, they don't have that either" do well for your daily step count if nothing else. Food quality for what they do have is ok; nothing to rave about nor complain about. I can't help but feel the Naturalist is just missing a manager with a bit of initiative or effort. Out of mushrooms? Send someone to the supermarket 50m away, and brief the staff on which menu items are unavailable in the meantime. Run out of kids' menus? Get some more printed. In summary, nice surroundings, standard and limited menu, with many items often unavailable. Could do with a manager with a bit of oomph.
