Expensive poor qaulity beer sometimes understaffed

Having just had a meal at red lion Broughton. For our 88years old mum. On.mothers day. Was a tad disappointed. As we had previously eaten there and Sunday lunch had been wonderful. But cannot say the same for today. Waited 45mins for starters. Main meal came. Vegetables were rock hard. Mums lamb was a mulched mixture of that looked like kebab meat it was bbq flavours. With carrot and spices. Not what you would want with roast dinner. Did exchange for beef. Had to wait another 40 minutes for dessert..anyway might be a while before order food again. Service was excellent. So not all bad. But room for improvement

Gone out for mothers day meal, party of 9. The food was very poor, the beef was thin and fatty, the stuffing ball was dry and solid as concrete, the yorkshire pudding was obviously frozen as it arrived ice cold and rock hard. The staff were polite when you saw them. However, you never saw them. Nobody actually came across to the table to order. It took someone to go find a worker to tell them what the whole table wanted. There was only one person dealing with the tables along one supervisor. It took about 50mins for a server to come and speak to the table about the food and after another hour we were still waiting for dessert which in the end we requested the dessert to be removed from the bill and we will just leave. I dont think I've been anywhere and spent 2.5 hours spent in a restaurant for a 2 course meal but only actually had 1 course as they took so long we had enough of waiting. What made it worse was that the food was pre ordered in advance at the request of the restaurant. So everything should have run smoothly. I am aware that it is under new management, but there are some extreme changes that need to be made. Otherwise, the establishment won't get repeat custom, it isnt somewhere i would return in a hurry.
