Sutton in the Elms Care Home

My mum, 'Dot' is a resident at Sutton in the Elms Care Home, Broughton Astley. I live in Cornwall and have not long found your FB page. I like to take a look as often as I can. I love when I see mum and the regular residents in the lounge (stable) and see the activities they enjoy. I chat regularly with mum who has dementia and we talk about any activities I have seen on FB. It helps mum to remember and I also feel more involved. It is great to see residents and carers enjoying the varied activities.

I visit Sutton every week to do the residents hair I love going to Sutton, I am always made welcome by the staff and the residents are always happy to see me. I only have to ask the staff for help and they are always happy to help me nothing is too much trouble for them.

My family ring and ring and can never get through... When they finally do get through they ask if they can speak to our grandad on the home iPad and the staff say they dont know how to use it.... Im hearing very worrying things concerning my grandad in regards to how he is left in bed and not being cared for properly at all. I will be complaining to an ombudsman and getting this investigated. As I type this the phone is just ringing out which is what my family have experienced for days now.... I would not recommend this care home for your loved ones at all.

Truly the most exceptional place for caring and atmosphere, my Mum has spent the last two months of her life here and I am So so grateful that I discovered this place where the staff are professional, caring and made my mum's life as good as it could be in difficult circumstances. Superb management, a unique place has been created with a home from home, friendly and respectful atmosphere Really hope nothing changes in this remarkable Home that is unlike any other I have encountered, a huge thanks to the staff for being there for me and my Mum
