The House itself is beautiful and was really clean and tidy.
The pool and tennis court were great and the grounds were immaculate. Really lovely views too.
Plenty of games in the house and summer house, Netflix on the tele in the living room, pool table and ping pong too! Plenty to keep you busy.
Short walk into Brough where there is a Morrisons and pubs. Would also recommend Green Dragon in Welton, food was lovely there.
Last but not least, Will was brilliant, great communication before the stay. He was also there on arrival to show us round and welcome us in. Thank you and see you again soon :)

All 9 rooms had its own character were very clean and soooo comfortable!
The place was huge like living in a castle with two staircases on each side and I simply cannot wait to return! So thank you William! You and youre sister have done such an amazing job and hope to see you again!

Wickersley House is THE PERFECT place to stay if you want rest, peace, luxurious surroundings - its also a real home from home.
The house itself is just stunning. The drive in alone has plenty of wow factor! When you get inside you can just tell that these walls have seen some drama over the years, from the 1500s and of course, lots of joy for the family whove lived there in latter years.
Even though its a Manor House, its not stuffy. Large rooms, high ceilings. Numerous bathrooms, modern showerslots of places for you to retreat to when the family are getting on your nerves (not that that ever happened to me ).
We have three children aged 8, 10 and 12 so the grounds and the heated swimming pool were my main draw. We were not disappointed. The pool is better than some hotel pools. Large and warm, with an electric cover to keep the heat in. Its in a covered room with comfy chairs, and I actually read a book whilst listening to my kids scuba and flip and recover treasure from the bottom of the pool.
The pool has a sauna and wet room, as well as large heaters which helped enormously (you have to think of these things as a mother).
Once theyd had enough of the pool, my prunes (I mean children) ventured outside and played cricket, boules, giant Jenna and tennis. They spent an inordinate amount of time rolling down the hills on the lawn (old school) and just exploring the stunning gardens, stroking the odd horses nose as they went.
There are two rooms at the top of the house where my gang spent a lot of their time on the rainy day - the gym, where theres a large telly and good wife signal so were able to hook up their Xbox and play away (brought for wet weather days) but the playroom held the greatest surprise. Were basically master ping-pongers now, Forrest Gump had better watch his crown
When staying in a house like this youre always worried about staining something, or scratching something. Not too much of a worry for us as the children are older now, but when we did have cause to contact the owners (couldnt figure out how to get the lights on in the dining room) they came quickly and without drama. Theres a real sense that they expect the house to be enjoyed, and are happy for it to be, so are more laid back than other owners of homes weve stayed in.
Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful home for a week lots of us really, really enjoyed.
It had everything we need, and we will be back.
