My mum was only at Swanland House for 2 months, but the care and attention she received was exceptional. She was 100 yrs old and quite frail, but able to converse and enjoy the company of others. I moved her from her previous care home due to lack of care, attention and empathy where she was very unhappy. During her time at Swanland House, she was a different woman. She never wanted to go to bed as she was enjoying the company of others!! The staff are so caring and understanding and nothing is too much trouble for the management. I would not hesitate recommending this care home to anyone. The worry and any issues I had were lifted from my shoulders, as I knew she was very happy. Thank you to all the staff.

Would give 0 stars if I could. This review cannot be flagged as false or misleading as I have a full safeguarding report to substantiate it and you can also read their latest inspection on the councils/CQC website, which is concerning at best. This is why I have waited until now to leave this review so Swanland House cannot request for it to be removed as hearsay or slander, as this is now FACT in black and white. My grandad was in swanland house for 10 days and within that time he was hospitalised for septic bed sores, clinical severe dehydration and a severe UTI. Sadly he died and a subsequent investigation by the CQC and East Riding Safeguarding found Swanland House to have neglected his needs and failed to provide substantial care for him. Josh the manager and Lindsay the registered manager categorically failed in the care provided and were unable to even provide the safeguarding inspector with the legal documentation required to operate as a care home. They even told us as a family they had called my grandads GP multiple times to address our concerns about his deteriorating health, however the findings through the thorough investigation by the safeguarding team found this to be false. Do NOT entrust your loved ones into their care. We trusted them and they failed us in every way possible. Please feel free to read the latest safeguarding and inspection report done by East Riding Council in May 2022, following our concern for the care in Swanland House following the death of my grandad. There are some serious issues and I would advise you to read the report carefully before deciding to place your vulnerable relatives here.

I highly recommend Swanland House to anyone looking for residential care. My father spent a very safe, comfortable and happy year living at Swanland House. When Dad went to live at the home, all the staff (management, carers, cooks, etc.) worked hard to ensure that he felt at home within a few months. They were keen to make his surroundings and his way of life in his new home personal to him, involving both Dad and us, his family. The knowledge and skills of the carers were of a high standard and they dealt with Dads changing medical conditions and needs very professionally. They cared for Dad with affection and humour. This was achieved during what must have been very challenging circumstances for them due to the pandemic. Both management and carers were always very friendly and helpful to myself and my siblings. They helped us to communicate with Dad as often as we wished, no matter how busy they were. All of the above also gave us enormous peace of mind while we were unable to visit Dad due to Covid restrictions. I cant thank the team at Swanland House enough for the care and kindness given to my father. They truly are special people with exceptional skills and knowledge. They provide an excellent home and care service for vulnerable people. Swanland House is clearly very well managed and has high standards. I wish it, and its team of staff, every success in the future.

My father was only at Swanland House for a year. He joined on respite and the fact that he felt so at home within months, was testament to the care, professionalism and attention of the staff, led by Lindsey. They have without exception been simply superb. Josh and Lindsey took the stress out of settling in an elderly relative and no question was too much trouble, especially in the early bewildering days. Covid restrictions obviously made things difficult for everyone and prevented any regular visits which is a huge regret, but we are so grateful for the times that we were able to see him. And most importantly you kept him safe. That Swanland House became his new family was without question and it was of huge comfort to me and my siblings at such a vulnerable stage in his life. A heartfelt thanks to all the staff they really are brilliant and incredibly special people. I wished you all could have been part of my fathers and our life for a lot longer, but we are so grateful for the time he had with you. I cant recommend Swanland House highly enough.
