First and last visit. In brief,the car went in for an EGR fault code and was told it needed a forced regeneration,clean and to check out a possible further fault.we dropped the car at 9am and were quoted 625,which seemed excessive but agreed. Whilst working on the car we were called and told they found a oil leak from the crankshaft seal, and would take 20hours labor to repair (at 113 per hour)!!! They told my wife that if she didn't get it done not to drive the car and sell it asap. We couldn't afford to pay that and would have to leave it . We waited for a call to let us know the agreed work was finished,so decided to call an hour before closing to check and was told it wouldn't be ready until the following day!! I drove down to talk to the mechanic working on the car to discuss this "oil leak" and he told me that there was a slight mist of oil and it wasn't a problem!!! It seems the guys in the office that price the jobs either thought they'd try their luck or there was a possible miscommunication between them. Eventually the car was ready the next afternoon,which we had to call up to find out . The bill came to 1031(912 in labor inc vat) not even remotely close to the quote and no contact from them to inform us of the additional cost. The next day we took the car to another garage to get a second opinion to be certain and they checked for the oil leak....no sign at all . Service: General repairs & maintenance
