Samaritans of Havering

I came in to drop some new clothes and some cash but no one opened the door. I rang the number for over 20 times no one picked. A lady peeped through the door and went back. She thought I was homeless. I had to take the item to another charity organisation.

I was in a very bad and dark place few years ago. My son was taken into care, I was stopped from working and I felt all alone and lonely. Nobody, not even me understood what was in my head. There was this night I wanted to end I was really desperate ... Then it clicked that I could ring the Samaritans as I had been told by my social worker. The person on the other side of the line listened to me crying, bawling my eyes out for 45 minutes. No sadistic, judgemental or personal questions. Just intermittent cough to make me know she was still there. God used her to save me that night. I'd rather speak with someone in the Samaritans than my own mental health practitioners. They are understanding and don't ask silly and upsetting questions. They are my one stop for when. I'm in crisis God bless all the volunteers.
