I visited here with my wife somewhat spontaneously, we were quite lucky to get a table as it was quite busy. I'd recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. But its only a 5 minute drive for us so being turned away wouldn't have been a disaster. My wife ordered a blue cheese beef burger with nacho style avocado fries. I ordered the super hot chicken burger with sloppy joe style fries. The fries were gorgeous, my only complaint is I think they should be a little larger for the price paid. Now with regard the super hot chicken burger, it was flagged as being extremely spicy to the point whereby it was practically forewarning that I may struggle to eat it (almost like it was giving a disclaimer). And I accepted this. When it came to how spicy it actually was, it produced a mere mild tingle and nothing more. I am not a "Man vs Food" competitor where my tolerance is ridiculously high, so I was a bit surprised by this. However, it was very tasty, so no harm done. My wife's meal was disappointing, the avocado were far from ripe to the point of being inedible. The beef had such a mature flavour that it just tasted off. I sampled both myself from my wife and I wouldn't eat it and I'm far from being a fussy eater and I hate, HATE complaining at any restaurant, but this was just not ok. We reported it and the manager/head chef responsible could not have been more helpful, which is why I'm giving a positive review. He said they source the avocado externally (indicating the quality control failed on the supplier) than make it themselves and that the beef was just a mature type of beef, I've had this situation once before at another restaurant where they use very mature beef so I believed him on both counts. He saw my wife's predicament (she was wearing her cap that only women who've undergone chemotherapy wear, and is such in her case). Who knows if it had a bearing or not, but he really wanted her to eat so he offered to cook chicken tenders quickly for her. My wife said no thank you, her appetite just wasn't there and her illness can switch it off in an instant. They knocked her meal off the bill, and they insisted we try their homemade cheesecake on the house. My wife, usually not a fan of cheesecake, tried a little and she thought it was delicious. Myself being a big fan of cheesecake also found it very delicious. Giving 4 stars because it would be disingenuous to give 5. But their management and service avoided me giving it 3. Atmosphere was excellent, waiting staff were great, drinks selection impressive, lighting and ambience was also on point. Can definitely see ourselves returning, but Bromsgrove offers a lot in the way of eating out so its got some competition for now. Parking: Parking is fairly limited, just be prepared to have to resort to local side street parking. Otherwise its a short walk from the train station (albeit you have to ascend a fairly steep hill).
