Having read reviews of BTC I thought I would relate my recent experience with this company. We had used BTC previously and been more than pleased with the service they provided and believed that Bromsgrove had another dependable taxi service. Bearing this in mind when a recently widowed friend decided to venture out for the first time following her husbands passing we had no hesitation arranging transport through BTC. We booked the trip from Bromsgrove to Dodford and on to Rubery with a very pleasant operator nearly a week in advance and were quoted a price of 18.00, so far all good. Taxi collected us on time and our journey commenced with the driver asking us which route we preferred to take and followed our directions to Dodford up until we got to Fockbury Mill Lane which he said was too narrow. After a few minutes of discussion he told us we could get out there and then leaving us stranded or he would take us back to Bromsgrove and charge us for the trip he had so far completed. He then pulled into a side road and called the office and was told he should complete the journey but that he could use his preferred route but at no extra charge to us. Our journey continued at break neck speed with the driver ignoring our requests to slow down, driving at some stages erratically sometimes dangerously, so much so that at one point we missed a junction and finished up in a roadside car park. Eventually my husband and I vacated the taxi leaving our friend to endure her trip to Rubery driven by a bad tempered driver who resented her presence in his vehicle leaving her feeling threatened and vulnerable. On her arrival the driver attempted to charge 26.00 not the 18 that was quoted and drove of in huff when this was refused. I related our experience to BTC firstly to the operator who passed us on to Lee who we understand to be the office manger. Lee told me that he could not believe that the driver had acted in such a fashion and that it was totally unacceptable. He also mentioned the driver concerned had been reported previously and that he would ask Imran who I believe to be the owner to contact me to discuss the matter further. Despite me making numerous calls and receiving categorical promises that Imran would contact me nothing has materialised and I now believe my phone number has been blocked. ANY ANSWER BTC????????
