Pricey but it's a hotel restaurant in London and I'm from the North innit! Ordered the burger which was pretty good, patty looked handmade with nice chips and garnish. Must have run out of plates because it came on a piece of wood but whatever. Cheesecake for desert less impressive but fine. No builder's tea only the middle class papp but bought a coffee in replacement. Staff friendly and helpful.

I waited about 10 minutes before somebody even came to take a drink order. The starter, a very poor quality salad, was served 10 minutes later. I attempted to complain about the undeserving of a glass of wine, however I was told that 175ml was the restaurant's version of large (this is illegal). The waitress was quite blunt and argumentative over this. After waiting a further 15 mins for someone to realise I was finished with the starter I received 2 small fragments of fish that did not even match what might be a whole serving cut in half, just 2 small 4cm offcuts of haddock. After waiting a long time to send it back another 15 minutes elapsed before a 'replacement' was served (about 30 mins after starter) however I was presented with something completely different to that ordered, however with seemingly the original limp bits of veg and microwave lentils. The fish was obviously hake, however it appears the chef decided customers are too stupid to know the difference and was happy to just serve anything - this again is illegal and risks allergy to some, so quite dangerous. Plain hake is quite bland and not a substitute, particularly when it has been quite obviously aggressively defrosted and rapidly fried to the point it is crumbling apart. To actually serve this along with the original reheated veg demonstrates this chefs lack of interest in quality or reputation. Despite sending a main course back, this was the last seen of any waiting staff that evening - nobody even coming to check a sent back meal was ok or even ask if anything else was required.
