Lovely place for a cream tea. Took my Aussie girlfriend here to experience her first British cream tea and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Only thing was, we were told the tearoom was closing at 4:15 when it said on the door that they were open till 5pm so we had to rush to finish our tea to the sound track of a vacuum.

Service was awful, waitress was rude. We were left waiting to be seated while all staff walked past ignoring us. At one point there were 9 people waiting to be seated and we counted 7 tables left with cups plates etc, no one was clearing tables. We had cream teas, when I asked for butter, I was asked "what with cream tea" very rude.

My husband and I visited for the first time today on the recommendation of my Sister-in-law (who came with us). It was very busy but we managed to nab the last table. The lady who saw us to our table and then took our order was very welcoming and friendly. However, we sat waiting for our food and drinks for ages. Eventually our food arrived, but not our drinks. A different lady came and double checked what drinks it was we had ordered, and asked if it was two Lattes, a Cappuccino and a pot of tea, so we said just the one latte with the other drinks not two. Eventually our drinks arrived after we had finished eating(We ordered the full English breakfast and it was delicious!) After leaving the establishment my husband noticed that we'd been charged for two lattes, instead of just the one so popped back in to let them know. He was met with a bit of a curt response by the lady who had double checked our drinks order. He was given the option of leaving a tip or not and when he declined the same lady abruptly said "Didn't think you would!"...Now I know it was very busy in there but that's no excuse for staff rudeness, especially when she was the one who had made the mistake! Maybe it was just a one off, but although the food was delicious and the first lady was very welcoming, it would make me think twice about visiting again,
