Mr Eddys Tea Rooms

We've had hot drinks and light meals here 2 or 3 times now. The food has always been very tasty. But I'm only giving 3 stars because the young staff are not on the ball about clearing tables of used crockery etc. I have yet to see a table wiped over and cleaned at all, let alone with an antibacterial spray. And I had to wipe old, creamy, food off the armchair myself before I could sit down. They also don't seem to be aware of the need to check whether supplies of serviettes, cutlery etc need restocking. We waited a long time for our bacon baps this time and had to chase them up. How long does it take to fry bacon? The staff are friendly enough. I feel more training in keeping tables cleaned and ready for the next customer is needed, rather than chatting to one another.

Massive selection of cakes as well as hot food and sandwiches. Prices very reasonable especially given location. Food good quality with generous portions. Staff are super friendly and happy to help. Little cheeky robin made in in the cafe getting peoples crumbs off the floor. Ample seating in and out. Quiet in the mornings but a buzzy atmosphere at lunch. Can visit cafe without entrance to gardens. Will return and look forward to it. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs. gravel track to entrance.

I come to Mr Eddy's regularly to meet up with friends. The food and service are always friendly and quick. This year, they started doing their Sunday roasts again, which I had a couple of weeks ago, and the portions and price are excellent and worth every penny. It is located outside of the gardens, so you do not need to pay to visit here.
