Frustration with Stooks - that to get in, one has to walk to periphery of the garden centre indoor sales floor. I have no interest in garden stuff or sundries on sale - I came for lunch. There is a perfectly serviceable door right near the Stooks part of Newbrdge Nurseries. I have marked Service with 3 stars since there isn't a more suitable category. The fiod Butter chicken curry followed by coffee and walnut cake. Food decent, in fact, curry very good. Lack of gluten-free cake on Stooks menu and limited option in Kipling annoying for my wife, who is gluten-intolerant.

We visited on Mothers Day. We arrived fairly early and managed to find a table that hadnt been reserved, even though on their website it stated No bookings. There was already a 15 minute wait for drinks and 30 minutes for food. We ordered coffees and waited over 20 minutes before these arrived. We ordered our food at 12:00 and waited approximately 25 minutes. When the food eventually came it was a real disappointment. Both my mother and I had ordered the Parmesan coated chicken dish and my wife the pork sausage roll. All of it had been very overcooked and was hard and dry with no flavour to any of the dishes. My wife remarked that her Asian slaw tasted off and she should know. We didnt finish our meals and when the waitress came to remove them they asked How was your meal. My wife informed her of the salad and was promptly informed that it cant be because it was freshly made that morning. I almost said that it may have been made this morning but certainly not with fresh ingredients. We let it slide as my mum was getting tired. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.
