A little late on reviewing as life is busy! However I cant not share our awful experience. For others considering using them. We had our whole upstairs & stairs booked & fitted on the 17th January. We went for mid range with a good underlay. The men came to fit it, and that evening we noticed you could feel the rods sticking through piercing our toes! So we contacted them and was told ok were come and look. The men came back with a hammer and tried to nail them down I mean. Really. Turns out we were right and they fitted too big rods for our carpet So of course they assured us theyd come out just simply pull it up and re lay the right size rods. We spoke to a professional carpet layer who said it will never be possible for them to lay it correctly having pulled it up. Well he was right. Were left with a bodge job which we paid a lot of money for and the branch could not give two tosses!!!!! Spoke to a guy on the phone who was like yeah it will be fine and its all so normal. Not at all. Disgusting service and I would stay WELL CLEAR!!!!!!

I sincerely regret buying from Tapi. 1 year on and our carpet is awful. I wanted a plain, grey carpet that minimises footprints (I have 3 children +dog) and the salesman that came to my home recommended a specific carpet that suits my requirements and I naively went with it. This carpet was 20% off but the quote was only valid for 48 hours. I had a young baby and I just wanted a plain, simple carpet without trekking round the shops, so I stupidly trusted the salesman and I trusted in Tapi as a brand. What happened to us belongs in an episode of Rogue Traders. What I got was an Essex style, glam carpet that severely shows footprints and shading. Totally inappropriate for stairs/hallway in a 1950s farmhouse. When I complained the salesman was sent back to our house. He was defensive and said you wanted a family friendly carpet which is what I sold you and YOU just dont like it. The conversation was very unpleasant for everyone involved. All handled very unprofessionally by salesman and manager. On top of that. The fitters are low quality/skilled. When they turned up in a clapped out, unmarked, banger of a van, we knew in the pit of our stomachs this was going to be bad. They damaged our skirtings, and the carpet is loose, ill fitting and has holes and chunks missing on the stairs. I have emails and videos and photos to prove everything. From the virtual photo- of a plain grey non shaded carpet , the 20%off valid for 2 days and all the damage and fitting of the carpet when it was laid. I dont normally get involved writing reviews but its a year on and Im still upset by it. I should have stood up for myself at the time, but we were under pressure with a 6 month baby. I hope this review saves someone else the trouble (the time and money its now costing me to replace the carpet). Tapi is crapi. Buy elsewhere! Do not let them into your home.

Well I'm not sure where to start . If I was the business owner I'd be ashamed. As I walked into the show room in Croydon I was the only customer in the store . 3 members of staff completely ignored me ,one man was pacing up and down on a personal call . A woman on a desk discussing a driving test with another colleague . I was not acknowledged at all. I may as well be invisible. Went to a independent shop to get my whole house carpeted and wooden floors.

DO NOT GO INTO THIS WITHOUT A QUOTE FROM OTHER RETAILERS! HIGH PRICE I decided to go in stores as I was not sure about what I wanted and desired a high quality carpet. I selected my carpet and was quoted, around 850, for a small bedroom, plus fitting cost 91, which I thought was reasonable at the time. I was only able to review the receipt properly a few days later and noticed there was a separate charge 12 for Tapi arrange the fitter , which I could have done myself, as the fitter was 71 in total and had to pay an additional 30 more on the day as they needed to cut my door. I was not made aware of this, so complete money making scheme - no clear transparency on the additional costs which may be incurred on the day of fitting by Tapi. Once the carpet was installed, I was told by my local carpenter, who is also a wholesaler, that they sell the exact same carpet for half the price!! I was shocked as I was told I was getting the best deal. I was told I was getting 50% off. Not true, just a marketing tactic on inflated prices. On a separate note, I also order vinyl, for a separate room for 292, excluding fitting, with an extra 12.99 for fitting spray. I would recommend not to buy the spray as you can buy the same, online, for half the price. Also, with this purchase I was told the order would be delivered a month after purchase date, not in line with my expectations, as I was told 2-3 weeks initially. Therefore, luckily, I had to cancel the order, get a refund, and search for another provider. The other online provider charged 182, so much less than Tapi, so their delay and refunding was a blessing in disguise. I would not use them again, as the additional cost were not clearly explained.
