DMS Conversions

DMS completed a significant extension on my property. The work was of a very high quality and broadly on schedule despite happening during the current COVID pandemic. The team are very friendly and continually respectful of ours and our neighbours needs. Ultimately the project was finished on time, cost and quality and we couldnt ask anymore. I would highly recommend this organisation if you want a complete, stress free building project.

I have to say I have been extremely pleased with the workmanship and professionalism of DMS, it's always difficult to know what your going get with a building company but I happy to say these guys did a fantastic job. I had a single storey extension at the back of the house with a new kitchen so a pretty big and messy job, but the house was left clean and tidy between days of work and all the guys who came round were a pleasant and a joy to have around. DMS overhauled my 3-bedroom mid terrace home which included to demolish an old cold single storey extension and replace with a larger well insulated double storey extension and change the entire upstairs layout as well as half the downstairs including re-skim every room and knock through from the living room to new kitchen/diner extension. This was a lot of work and DMS quote was better than any other builder. Being honest, we did have worries that the saying you get what you pay for would be our downfall but this wasnt the case at all. DMS from foundations to completions were brilliant and finished everything to an extremely high standard without cutting corners and were very helpful and communitive throughout advising on the best course of action when issues arose. Everything done to building regulations and Dave at DMS liaised with building control throughout. I believe the reason why their quote was so good is down to a really well organised set up and high skill set of all the builders at DMS. We started in early January (and it was a wet January) the groundworks team didnt grumble they worked extremely hard using a small rear access path to remove all the mud out of the back, through the wind, rain and elements they managed to keep the timescale on time yet still had the good attitude to make sure every evening the (now) construction site was safe and clean for my children, sweeping and mopping floors and boarding up the large hole in the back of the house. We moved out for the internal works to take place but then covid lockdown happened but DMS managed to push-on throughout, there was some delay due to having to restrict tradesmen in the house and keeping the site covid safe for all yet the work continued. When parts and materials was hard to come by more sound advice and sourcing of materials meant the work still continued. In all the work was about 4 weeks delayed and on budget which was a miracle based on the problems DMS had to overcome due to covid and the additional works we added on. I would recommend DMS to anyone knowing they will be getting a high-quality job with an excellent team of skilled builders. Chris Clyst Honiton, Exeter. Despite loving a lot of the work dms did for me I was hugely disappointed with the service. The website quotes tidy workmanship. This is VERY untrue. I was left living in a bombsite every evening throughout the build with no consideration to the fact I had to eat and sleep there. There were numerous issues with the roof being left off so the house flooded, furniture and TVs being damaged and some of the work not completed to standard. However as a single female when I tried to complain I was made to feel totally ignored and as if I was complaining for nothing and spoken to at times quite rudely. I am still left with incomplete work after promises to rectify damage has been ignored and it has become clear in the time since the build that some of the work such as the bathroom fitting was not completed to a standard I would have expected. Another claim that they finish your job before starting another is also untrue as mine was left with a few stragglers working on it after they got a big project and it was clear completing mine was a rush job as opposed to wanting a good standard finish. I dont like leaving negative reviews of companies, especially those family led but after refusing to recognise the issues and either compensate for the damage and stress caused by their mistakes I feel others should know before they use them. I would not recommend this company and wish I had gone elsewhere.
